To the posters who apparently don't want to talk about ferrets on what is
titled 'The FERRET Mailing List', how much sense does that make? Yes, I
watch the news and yes, I am aware of what is going on down south. Yes,
I've donated to help the humans who were misplaced when Katrina hit, but
I am also concerned with trying to help any animals who may be left down
there.

I'm sorry, but watching MSNBC last night, I saw the rescue workers turn
away a woman because she would not leave her dog. If I were in her
position, I would do the same thing because to me, my animals are my
family. The people down there have help, they are not helpless as the
animals are. Sure, help could have been sent to the people a little bit
faster, but come on! It took even longer for them to send any help for
the animals than it took for them to send help for the people. Why
couldn't they let the rescue workers for the animals in at the same
time they left in the rescue workers for the people?

And also, as I stated, this is the FERRET Mailing List, not the PEOPLE
mailing list. If people wish to talk about ferret shows, I find it
perfectly acceptable. I'm sorry, but there is only so long one can dwell
on sad news before they have to either a) go crazy over it, as many
people did when 9/11 happened and ended up with post traumatic stress
syndrome just from watching the news too much, or b) try and move on to
happier healthier subjects.

If you do not wish to hear about ferrets when you feel there are other
more important things going on, why don't you unsubscribe from this list
and subscribe to some news mailing list run by CNN or MSNBC?

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wonder are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."

"May it be you journey on
To light the day;
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun"
