just found this on the web, program is called Charity begins with your
home.

seems to be that you go through this source to locate a re-estate person,
they negotiate a percentage of the commision to go to charity, and when
your home is sold/bought, you get a tax receipt.  based on the value of
the house, the donation would be in at least the hundreds..
 
so anybody looking to buy/sell a property should take a look at this
and thihk about benefitting your favourite shelter.
