Soemthing to keep in mind in relation to Black Footed Ferrets and others:
California Congressman Richard Pombo introduced an "extinction bill" in
the House earlier this week to undermine the Endangered Species Act.
Nearly 90% of Americans have come out in favor of protecting endangered
species. Guess who is instead being listened to by some, like Mr. Pombo?
One provision of the extinction bill would end the protection of critical
habitat -- an essential for saving the Black Footed Ferret -- and a
necessity for so many animals and plants.
It would even require outrageous levels (no longer fair ones) of taxpayer
money to go to developers to not break the law, one more example not only
of the powerful feeding from the endangered, but of the middle class once
again carrying the wealthy.
Time to call your Representative and Senators, please!
