Just to let you know it is NOT illegal to own ferrets on Long Island
unless you live in Queens which is part of NYC (Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx,
Staten Island and Manhattan).  New Hyde Park is in Nassau County which
does allow ferrets along with Suffolk County, both located on Long
Island.  It is illegal to own ferrets if you live in New York City.
