Along the line of being prepared, is the very intimidating task of
getting ready to travel long distances with ferrets safely, efficiently,
and stress free (for both you and your ferret).

The "Traveling While Fuzzy" article I wrote several years ago is
available in the Ferret Health List Files. Click on the "Files" link on
the left hand side of the page and then click on the down arrow in the
"Show" box and select 50. The article is close to the bottom of the
list.

Although the article is quite lengthy, I'm sure you'll find it well worth
the read. I've had quite a bit of practice traveling with the fuzzy
members of my family and they have managed to get me fairly well trained
over the years. It covers not only car safety, but destination safety
and points out a number of life threatening problems you will never
anticipate unless you've traveled for several days with ferrets in your
car or truck.

Although it was written primarily with vacation and moving trips in mind,
it is also appropriate for emergency evacuation needs.
