Pleeeeeease don't give up on the little guy! Five days really isn't that
long, there have been ferrets recovered on this list *long* after five
days because their hoomin beans didn't GIVE UP!!!!! He's counting on
you. The day you quit, David, is the day it's over for Vinnie, and I
know you don't want that.
I know you have a good heart, David, a strong heart with lots of love,
and there are still things you can do.
Have you put up posters in your neighborhood (you can make them on your
computer, or go to a copy store and ask for help) on telephone poles,
light poles, telling your neighbours that Vinnie is loose, what he looks
like, and where he escaped from, and what your phone number is? Are
there stores nearby in your neighborhood? Some of them might let you
put a poster in their window, if you asked politely.
Have you knocked on all of your neighbours doors, and given them a copy
of that poster, so that they know to look for Vinnie, and how to find
you? If they are not at home, you can just put a poster in their
mailbox. You can do that for several blocks around your house.
Have you called your local animal rescue, and asked them if someone has
turned in a ferret? Have you called them and told them that Vinnie is
gone, and they should keep an eye out, and to call you if they find
one? If you are not sure where to call, you could probably get that
information from your vet. I'm sure they want Vinnie to come home, too.
Were you able to get those have a heart traps? If not, does Vinnie have
a carrier, like a cat carrier? You can leave that in the yard with food,
water, and bedding, he might just curl up to sleep inside of it.
I'm asking please, my friends on the FML, if you have some good advice
for David on how he might go about finding Vinnie, please speak up!
E-mail him privately or post to the list for all of us to think about.
It's so important to know what to do if something like this happens!
Remember--someone saw Vinnie just a few days ago! It's *not* too late,
no matter what Joe thinks.
Hoping for a miracle, but asking only for a little help for David and
Vinnie--
