EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW WHAT Y'ALL (NOTE SPELLING! LOL)
THINK!!!
LILLY
Mischief looked out into the gray Alaska dawn, it had snowed again last
night. Perfect, she thought, even though it was may, and most of the
Ferrets she played with were hoping spring would get here, mischief
loved the snow. She got up, and put on some coffee, then sat down at
the computer to check the snow reports.
Aha! she muttered, the snow reports were perfect, and there wouldnt
be so many tourists at this time of year. Forgetting all thoughts of
coffee, she threw her ski gear in the car and drove off towards the
resort, humming Oh Litterbox even though it was nowhere near Christmas.
She was the only one on the road, and realized how early it was. So she
checked her watch, 5:00 am! Shed be lucky to find a coffee shop open
this early. Mischief swerved off the road and looked around. There was
a coffee shop in the parking lot, but it was a little , run down place
that didnt look like it had been open in centuries. At least Mischiefs
Ford had a heater, but then again, she needed coffee. With a final
shiver, she went in. The first thing she noticed was that it was heated,
then she realized that Oh Litterbox was playing on the radio. She
looked around. The place was cutely seedy, with pictures of Alaskan
ferrets who had won skiing titles in the 40s, and none of the usual,
cheesy, overpriced artwork most places sold to tourists.
Mischief walked up to the counter, Ill have a mocha, please she said.
The ferret behind the counter looked at her curiously for a moment, as if
she was wondering what a small, ratty looking silver mitt was doing here
at 5 in the morning, then got her drink. Mischief took her mocha and sat
down at a booth by the shops window. The cushions were made out of a
fancy fleece fabric that was the only new thing in the shop Even the
floor looked about to fall apart.
The door opened and another ferret walked in, the barmaid looked ready
to commit murder, two ferrets coming in during her usually peaceful
morning was unheard of. Mischief looked at the newcomer, who ordered a
large coffee then sat down. But not until shed finished her mocha and
was ready to leave did she get a closer look at the stranger. He looked
as out of place as she would have been at a fancy California restaurant.
Clearly he was waiting for something, but it was 5:30 and the lifts
opened at 8. Whatever this mysterious ferret was doing would have to
wait.
Finally she got to the resort, but it was closed due to wind and snow.
Closed due to snow! Mischief thought, whod ever heard of a ski resort
closed due to snow?! But looking up the chairline, she could see that
it made sense. It was an old fashioned place with a dedicated hardcore
crowd, and refused to install new chairlifts. With a sigh, mischief
turned back to her green ford and drove home with the radio blasting.
After about a mile, she thought about the mysterious ferret at the coffee
shop. He was obviously not a ski bum, and mischief couldnt think of
another reason for a ferret to be at a seedy little coffee shop at 5 am.
So on her way back home, she stopped in at the shop. He was still there,
waiting. Mischief bought another mocha and checked her email on her
laptop. She didnt expect any mail, but she had a strange message, -you
are needed for a mission with SAS- strange, mischief thought, but even
her worries about the strange ferret and puzzling message could not keep
her worried for long when she was so tired. She climbed back into her
Ford and barely drove home before she fell asleep in her hammie.
