last night I had a big fight with Mochi. she's fine with the other
ferrets, but I think she wants to boss me around. she's also pretty
cuddly with me. anyways, she was nipping me real hard (okay, you could
probably call it a bite, although I didn't quite bleed). anyways, I
tried squealing, which works well with Popcorn and Sorin. she'll stop
for a bit and then just move the spot. then I start hissing at her and
scruffing her, and she hissed back at me (she hadn't done that for a
while). finally, I scruffed her and bit her under her arms, and she
squealed. then I hissed at her. she ran off in a sulk.
it seems to be that training a fear biter not to bite must be a lot
easier, you just have to remove the fear.. but a fuzzy that just bites
for the heck of it? I'm going to try biting her back for a while, but
this probably means my nose and lips might get the brunt of it (ouch!).
any other suggestions?
