Hello,
sorry for a second post. I was checking my leftover meds and discovered
I have Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic
Ointment which was prescribed for one of my ferrets eyes in Nov 2003.
I was researching this med and it seems pretty potent.
This ferret was one of my first two ferrets and we went to an vet who
had minimal ferret knowledge. Since then, we are going to a more
knowledgeable vet who is not afraid to investigate if he doesn't know
what is wrong with the ferrets, plus we travel 4 hours one way to a
reputable ferret knowledgeable vet for those more serious situations.
Anyway, my question is - does any one know if Neomycin and Polymyxin B
Sulfates and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Ointment is dangerous for ferrets??
This ferret, Dowi, has developed a heart condition which he has resolved
but he now walks on his knuckles. He is very stiff like when he walks.
He had adrenal surgery last summer. He did not have insulinoma.
When I was reading about Neomycin and Polymyxin B Sulfates and
Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Ointment I might have misinterpreted what I
read, but I thought I read something about the side affects could cause
neuro problems.
Does anyone know if this is true or if this ointment can harm ferrets??
Thank you and regards,
Melanie
