I too have tried ferret specific remedies for fleas and have had no
success.  Advantage works for me and I will continue to use it.  Common
sense says, try ferret specific first, but if it doesn't work, find
something that will.  (maybe Florida fleas are different?  I know the
ones in NW Fl are vicious and will bite anything they can get a hold of.
And the little buggers reproduce faster than a whole herd of rabbits).
