My ASCP newsletter has sent out this alert:
 
"Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC.  The U.S. Department
of Defense's (DOD) Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC)
has identified Walter Reed as a site for closure.  The AFIP, as part of
Walter Reed, has been identified for "disestablishment" ...."
 
If they close the AFIP, not only will it impact us humans, but how will
that affect Dr. Bruce Williams, DVM who has contributed so much to ferret
medicine .... ???
 
They go on to say " Follow this link to provide commentary to the BRAC
commissioners.  http://www.brac.gov/feedback.aspx.  ASCP also has a
sample letter that can be accessed through our e-Advocacy Center by

(In the Base/ Installation/ Facility drop box, select "Walter Reed Army
Medical Center".)  Please feel free to cut and paste sections of the

This is not a good thing ... for people or for ferrets ....
