Sorry guys and girls, but I can no longer handle this site, and I am
signing off.
Sorry to say, but I originally "found" this site due to some "web
searching" and found many interesting articles, arguments and discussions
here...
But lately it seems more and more about advertising "sales" ( and most of
the time that is OK, if it is for ferret shelters).. .but more and more
we seem to be discussing commercial products..
and more lately, it seems that "bitching" about petstores, fur sales,
ebay, etc etc etc seems to be the "topic" of the day...
I was really hoping to join in on some informative discussions about
Ferret welfare, health etc, but instead end up reading about politics,
(which would be OK, except everyone seems to either want to complain or
"boycott" or sign petitions.. Well, people.. be more active) anyhow..
I would like to give many thanks to so many people who have emailed me
privately to answer some questions I have asked, and I do realize many of
those questions have been asked before... but I do suggest that, rather
then emailing people privately, you actually post the answer to the
board.. I usually do not ask questions on a board unless I think others
will be interested in the answer.. so some of those answers may be well
worth posting..
anyhow, thanks to everyone for your contributions...and please remember..
in the future.. post about ferrets.. not the war, blatant advertising
for ebay items ( some are cool, but others are just plain advertising),
nor monkey/pot belly pigs/armadillo ownership..( unless directly related
to ferrets), nor, an Americans "right" to own any animal (dude, join the
local gun club, and stop annoying animal lovers..)
bye and thanks for all the help some have offered, I do love the genuine
people here, just can no longer handle the nonsense..sorry
Darrin
[Moderator's note: I followed up with Darrin to better understand his
points of view as well as to mention the non-commercialism of the sales
posts and the subscribers' perference to allow off-topic posts where
space permits. He was most cordial and understanding and actually has
received quite a bit of good advice from the FML but was also quick to
mention that many of the posts are quite USA-centric and he's on the
other side of the world. He also wish more people would post publicly
rather than answering privately.
By the way, some people aren't too keen on having their addresses visible
in the acrchives for people to spammers to grab. Looks like we'll have a
solution to that pretty soon -- stay tuned! BIG]
