I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Heather. I understand all too well
how you feel, since I have just lost 2 fuzzies in 2 weeks. Rascal was
a third-hand ferret to us, and best we could tell he was more than 7
years old. We had to have him put down due to cardiomyopathy and liver
enlargement/failure. Just 2 days ago we lost Oliver, another little old
fert-man who was around 7 also. He had been to the vet a week ago for
diarrhea and weight loss. She did a blood work-up and said that he had
remarkable results for a "90 year old little man" and started him on
Albon for what she suspected was a bacterial infection. He started
having those horrible seizures you spoke of on Saturday and died Saturday
night.

After having as many as 8 ferrets at one time, we now only have one,
Tubby. He's only 2 and so far seems to be totally oblivious to the fact
that he's alone. I think maybe it's due to his being so much younger
than Rascal and Oliver. He's probably thinking, "Those old geezers
never played with me anyway!" : )

Take care,
