I've seen everything from Bob Church wearing a Hawaian attire to very
fancy evening gowns.  The Oracle presses her long robe for such events.
For the most part people dress casually or in their ferret attire (ferret
t-shirts, hats, and jewelry which can acummulate over you stay at a
symposium lol).
