Bob C's article, and today's vet visit, got me to thinking about the
future of ferretkind. Is it possible to improve the genetic stock of
our ferrets by say importing European pets, or even hybridization with
polecats as was done in the old days?

Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill... but it seems like
ferts get sick a lot, and I wonder if there is something we can do to
strengthen the species we all love. Have any ferret authorities ever
studied some kind of long-term breeding program to this end?
