[Completely off-topic: did anybody notice Richard Sexton's comment
about Piranhas being illegal in some states?  (or was it the whole
USA?)  Now, he may shoot off his mouth a lot, but he does seem to know
what he's talking about vis-a-vis aquariums.  Must be due to the fact
that Piranhas *could* establish themselves in certain parts of the US.
Florida comes to mind - where they pond-raise most of the tropical
fish that we get around here.  Oscars, for example, have apparently
established themselves well enough in certain areas in Florida to
be considered "game fish"...  Not surprising, if Oscar the Terrible
(a housemate of ours) was just a teensy bit bigger, he just might
take our hand off if it had some yummies in it.
 
Fortunately, our ferrets don't like swimming, and Oscar the Terrible
is just a little too big for the "paw-in-the-water-and-flick-trick".
 
Still, piranha are quite easy to obtain.  Even the nastier versions.
But, how can most people tell the difference between one and something
else (like a Pacu or a Tin-foil barb)?  Too bad ferrets are so easy
to identify - besides, all of the other animals even remotely looking
like one are "protected" and are illegal anyhows.
