I have a Litter Maid for my kitty. I keep it in the bathroom. I use
it with clumping litter and it works great. Since it is accessible,
my ferrets will also use it. It is not their primary box though. I
honestly never thought they would share a box with the cat but I'm not
complaining! I was worried about them snorkling in the litter but it
hasn't been an issue. However, because the ferts like to go in the
corner and their poo/tinkle is so small it usually ends up lodged in
the litter rake. I don't think I would use it as their only means of
potty. They don't seem to be scared of the noise but I wouldn't want
them to use it unsupervised just because of the moving pieces.
