Hey everyone!

Sorry there was no updates over the weekend. But here we go.....

The ADV tree:
http://www.mkaresq.com/ADV/2004/ADV%20Trees/ADV-Tree1.htm
still has 22 kids.

The non-ADV tree:
http://givingtree.friendsoffuzzies.com/page1.html
still has 124 kids. There have been some additions and that's why the
number still seems high. Most of them aren't asking for much - a
sleepsack, bottle of ferretone, tube of ferretvite and maybe a bag of
treats.

Where I work a number of us head out for lunch a few times a week just
to get a breather. I decided to pass on that for the next few weeks so
I could pick another 2 kids on the tree. Anyone else with me on this?
We CAN do this!! I've seen how everyone's pooled together in the past
to make things happen - the ferrets need us to do this for them!!

For everyone in the US that has picked a Canadian kid - Canada Customs
is currently in "work-to-rule mode", so it will take twice as long for
stuff to get there than it normally does. I'm not trying to discourage
anyone - just want you to be aware so that maybe you can get your package
out sooner!

On another note, the poem that was in yesterday's FML brought tears to
my eyes and got me all choked up. If you didn't get a chance to read it,
please do. I don't have permission to post it again, but I believe it
was at the bottom of the 6th post titled "time running out for the Giving
tree entries". It was very sad, but very true.....and this is most
likely how ALL the kids in shelters feel every day.....so let's try and
give a few ONE special day out of 365.
