I just finished reading the China Fur Trade report. I will say that I
was not to surprised by what I saw. It has never ceased to amaze me that
a culture that claims to revere all life as sacred destroys so much with
little disregard. They over fish the waters, they bleed live bears for
their gall bladder fluid. They even allow new mothers a chance to drown
their new born children at birth if the child is not what they wanted or
has medical problems. Personally I have never had a problem with the
fur trade but I do have a problem with how the animals are treated and
killed. It's difficult to enforce our morals on another country,
especially one who refuses to change. It will all come down to politics
in the end.
