be not only effective but safe. In our family wituster sweeps more and doesn't pway so
much as he used too. We had to move into the wittle house [...]38_15Jan200505:28:[log in to unmask] 0501 10764 17 13_Vet Referrals8_mary [log in to unmask], 15 Jan 2005 10:29:44 -0500448_- Hello,
I am moving to Jersey City NJ and am wondering if anyone can suggest a
ferret literate vet in either JC or (more likely) the Downtown NYC areas?

Has anyone had experience with the St Marks Vets downtown NY?

his spleen and his x-rays showed a growth in his belly They were not able
to get cancer cells from the needle biopsy in his neck only fat cells.
I didn't want them to do a needle biopsy in his spleen. His vet first
said 99% sure of lymphomia and with the x-rays, ultrasound, blood work
and high rate of ferrets getting lymphomia, then she said 100%. I didn't
want more tests, he was tramatized too much. I have him home and on
prednasalone. He is doing well. [...]40_15Jan200511:10:[log in to unmask] 0501 10805 57 79_insulinoma meds; lympho; when volunteers get sick; full circle with WSJ and FML14_sukie [log in to unmask], 15 Jan 2005 03:40:14 -0500475_- Risa asked:
>Has anyone found that they need to give insulinoma meds more often than
>twice a day.

Yes, we have had some who did better if the meds were distributed over
a 3X day schedule. A vet told me years ago that Pred action is over a
9 hour period so it makes sense that some would do better with the
medication every 8 hours as long as the individual didn't have any of
the rare (in ferrets) steroid side-effects like ulceration. [...]42_15Jan200503:40:[log in to unmask] 0501 10863 26 19_Re: insulinoma meds9_Troy [log in to unmask], 15 Jan 2005 12:16:03 -0600506_- Our Draco gets pediapred 3 times a day. He gets 1 cc at 7am and 7 pm and
0.5 of a cc at 11:30pm. I also add 1/2 cc of honey to his evening recipe
serving. This seems to keep him somewhat stabilized unless I forget the
honey. I also noted that he was more likely to have a low sugar episode
if I gave carafate up to 1 hour before his pedipred so now I give it 1
hour after. The pediapred is 6.75mg/5ml. I try to keep him stabilized
on the lowest dosage possible because when he had [...]36_15Jan200512:16:[log in to unmask] 0501 10890 70 28_Harley "Bug" From Heaven....22_The Ferret Aid [log in to unmask], 15 Jan 2005 02:33:29 -0500437_- Hello my friends. It's with a sad heart that i share with you the loss
of Jake, a long term shelter resident. He lived in foster with uncle
Mark and auntie Sandy. His best friend was Frodo and he had a great
life with his foster parents for almost 2 years. Jake died of Adrenal
disease. his heart too weak for surgery, the adrenal gland invaded his
vena cava and liver, it mineralized and was probably a carcinoma. [...]41_15Jan200502:33:[log in to unmask] 0501 10961 32 21_Just gotta laugh.....22_The Ferret Aid [log in to unmask], 15 Jan 2005 20:33:39 -0500434_- *IF* the last 2 w

My name is Erin Berry and I have 2 male ferrets that I must find a home
for right away. I am leaving the country and I cannot take them with me.
I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. They are both paper trained and
respond to their names. They both have a mild temper and are NEVER
aggressive. They get along with other animals and have NO known health
problems.

Please Help
