Greetings to all. I've become more of a lurker lately due to school, but
by next December hope to become a regular again. For all who have lost
their fur kids and I haven't been able to write, my sincere condolences.
I know how hard it is when they leave.

In the 12/5/04 FML [4717] Sukie spoke of Dr. Richard Borgens at Purdue
University, and the paralysis study. I worked as a secretary in the
School of Vet Med and knew Dr. Borgens and his associate, Dr. Riyi Shi.
I can truly tell you folks these two gentlemen are serious about what
they are working on! I'm know all researchers are serious, don't get me
wrong, but I know these two men, Dr. Shi a bit more so than Dr. Borgens,
and I know how hard they've worked on this study. Should you attempt to
read their reports and can't understand them, I think if you were to
contact them they might, if they have time, try to answer you. Don't be
offended if they don't have the time, for I know what it's like for them
working there on their research-sometimes they don't have time to turn
around. When I heard what they were doing I spoke quite some time with
Dr. Shi about this, but it's been almost three years ago when I was
working for them as a secretary in the Vet School, and they were just
beginning to really get into the research. They hadn't started working
with the paralyzed dogs, but now, from what Sukie has written, it sounds
like they're progressing. Let's all keep them in our thoughts, and hope
they can cure paralysis for all living creatures.

Now, I can't resist what my ferrets have taught me:

1 . Unconditional love can come in the smallest package
2. Total trust given to you is a joy
3. Laundry was never meant to stay in a laundry basket around ferrets
4. The cats are the largest toys possible, so let's chase them
5. The cat tree CAN be climbed!
6. No book bag can remained zipped around any ferret, don't even think
    that
7. The lumps in the bed are not from unmade bedding
8. Bath water with bubbles is irresistible to a ferret
9. Soap is a wonderful thing for a ferret to eat, I just wonder why
    they don't blow bubbles later
10. A human's heart, when a ferret goes to the bridge, loses a piece,
but somehow that ferret sends another needy little one to repair
    that spot.
11. This list could go on forever, so I'll stop.
