The statement the governor made is a huge contradiction to SB 89 and
why/how it was written. It's almost as if he didn't read (which we know
he didn't) or understand the bill, or perhaps he was mislead!! I am so
upset I can't even see straight right now. The only good things to came
out of this are:
1) The governor now knows about this bill first hand
2) We've made it to the governors desk - we can do it again!
(with everyone's help!)
3) We can refute the statement HE MADE with counter remarks and why
SB 89 is an asset to the financial state of the government. Hell we,
the taxpayers, are WILLING to fund - ("The EIR should be completed and
evaluated as part of the decision making process before changing the
legal status of ferret possession.") this study with no help from the
government!
Did Arnold and/or the DFG pass 4th grade math??? If 4% of the 100,000
estimated population (low figure) of ferrets in CA were registered the
$250k study would be funded! That is a no brainer.
I think Arnold has dug himself a hole by his statement. He's basically
said that if a study can/would be completed/evaluated than the decision
making process can be looked at...we need that study! We need to
continue to support Jeanne Carley in anyway we can. Don't give up now
CA - even though it's been vetoed I think we are almost there. We've
been heard - we just haven't screamed loud enough to the point everyone
is sick of us!
