Trying to find out more for you and someone else I have come across some things of interest. WAS THIS FERRET ALSO GIVEN LUPRON? It looks like Lupron may not be a good idea when a cardiac problem is already in place. If Lupron had also been given since the heart was dilated -- indicating cardiomyopathy -- then that may have set the stage for worse trouble. Lupron depot is normally a wonderful drug, but like any med of any type it has its contraindications. http://forums.obgyn.net/endo/ENDO.0001A/0587.html http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/leuprolide_ad.htm http://www.annieappleseedproject.org/lupronlawsuit.html This is following one is interesting. If accurate, melatonin can actually have positive cardiac effects. I didn't know that. http://www.benbest.com/nutrceut/melatonin.html Well, this apparently agrees on part of that: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=15485759&dopt=Citation as does this (and it looks like several others): http://www.pulsus.com/CARDIOL/19_05/gyen_ed.htm -- Sukie (not a vet) Ferret Health List co-moderator http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/ferrethealth FHL Archives fan http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org International Ferret Congress advisor http://www.ferretcongress.org [Posted in FML issue 5033]
