This is a difficult e-mail to write; as I have responded to disasters
since 1992 and now I am in the middle of one.
First where we are an what is happening. We evacuated our mobile home
(shetler) this morning. From 5:40am until approximately 1:30PM we moved
the ferrerts to a 4 time adopter Ms. Cookine Havaland and her husband as
they have a cender block house and this was the best choice. All ferrets
are there and safe.
Myself and my neighbor are at the Vero Beach Resort. Highway 60 at I-95
with the dogs and the bird. For all those people that will be angry
about this please realize we are doing the best we can and Ms. Havaland's
house is much safter than where we are.
We just talked to Cookie 15 minutes ago and all is fine with the kids.
Truly, I do not know what will happen. Am praying our home will be
spared and we can bring the ferrets back. But so many shelters in
Florida are praying for the same thing.
Will try and e-mail you all tomorrow before we loose power. Brought my
desk top to the motel, didn't have a laptop.
Think good thoughts for us.
