A woman from Wilson, Perth phoned our Society's "Ferret Rescue" on
Wednesday, to let us know she had found a ferret wandering in her suburb,
and was keeping him in her bathroom.

I went to pick him up that day, and once he was at home, I noticed some
strange bruising on his sides. He was lethargic and not a very happy
boy.

We left him with one of our ferret-vets overnight, where he was shaved to
inspect the damage, and given painkillers and antibiotics. It appears
that he was attacked by a dog.

When I went to pick him up, the vet said there would be no charge, and to
consider it our Christmas present :)

I'm happy to report that "Wilson" is feeling much better, and has been
happily exploring my house and yard. In fact, he is feeling so much
better that he has decided the best use of his new-found energy, is to
bite everyone! We are fairly sure he has had minimal contact with
humans, but he will get there.

We think he is lucky to be alive, and very lucky to have escaped with no
internal injuries.
