Just wanted to toss this little note out.  Thank You to Rocky's Shelter
and Barbara Clay.  Today, I got in 6 ferrets of which, when reviewing
the paperwork, it seems that 3 out of the 6 originally came from Rocky's
Shelter in Md.  I called Barbara today to let her know her babies were
here and asked her what the terms of her contract were.  (Mine state that
the ferrets must be returned to me if they are surrendered at anytime in
the future).  She told me her contract also stated that.  Out of the 6
ferrets, 4 are going to require surgeries for adrenal and/or insulonmia,
one needs his surgery within the immediate future.  They are all updated
on shots but the ADV testing needs to be repeated as for it has not been
done since 2002.  This is a huge bill for us to incur right before the
Holiday.  Barbara and I had a wonderful conversation about these ferrets.
She offered to help me with the medical bills if they need to stay with
each other (bonded pairs or groups).  Or if the 3 she adopted out are ok
to leave, they can come back to her to be with their original Shelter
Mommie.
 
I just was very impressed with the kindness she showed me over the phone,
and she was also impressed with my kindness in contacting her.  I told
her, it is just something that should be done among shelters and I don't
think I did anything out of the ordinary.
 
Well, I just had to share..........it is pretty cool when shelters can
work together for what something that is in the ferret's best interest!
