I bees sworry dat this gweeting not been done alweady.  My hooman-bean
beens berry sads dis week, one ob her kittlie kats comes to da Bwidge.
Da hooman's kittlie kat bees sick for a few days and she takes da kat
to da doc.  Doc say dat it be a backeterial 'fection.  Kittlie kat gots
a shot and yucky medicine to take at home.  Hooman takes kittlie kat
back to da doc and doc say he keeps her for a few days.  Da doc calls
my hooman dis mornin to say kittlie kat stowen aways to da Bwidge.
 
Da hooman-bean cwies a wot.  Da hooman-mom founds dis kittlie kat aside
da woad, someone frows her away she bees a teenie kit whens she be found.
Hooman been sick and was goings home frum horsp-pittal dat day.  It bees
cold and waining dat day and it made da hoomans sad dat some mean person
frow dis kittlie kat aways.  It makes me sads dat hoomans dooes dese
kinds of tings.
 
Kittlie kat dies at animal horsp-pittal and dis makes da hooman-mom sads
dat she die in stwange pwace and not at home.  I hopes odder kittlie kats
be at da gate to gweets her.***
 
Early morning at the Bridge has Muldoone already up and getting ready
to go and greet the new arrival.  Trying once again to conquer his
hammy-head-hair, Mully sighs and gives up.  It be no use he mutters to
himself, I gets one side under da cap and da odder side jumps out.
Why won't da Boss fixes my hair?  I would wike to habe hair wike odder
fewets and nots habe to wears dis cap.  Heaving another big sigh with
the realization he was whipped, out the door he goes heading for the
Bridge to greet the new comer.
 
Muldoone took his work very seriously and he tried hard to be a good
Rainbow Bridge greeter.  What bothered him the most were the young
ferrets arriving at the Bridge; their time had been cut short, their days
in the sun ended too soon.  The abused ferrets touched his heart deeply.
They had done nothing to deserve the treatment they got, all they wanted
was a soft touch and a kind word and the opportunity to be a to do was be
a happy little ferret just like any other fuzzbutt.  There is a special
place the abused and frightened ferrets go to when they arrive; they go
to stay with Mz.  SunnyFerret until they felt comfortable enough to be a
part of Ferret Village located at the Rainbow Bridge.
 
Not long after arriving at the Bridge, Muldoone hears the sound of a soft
melody dancing softly on the breeze.  The Ferret Promise Song sang of
time cut short, it sang of love and broken hearts, the song spoke of the
promise made to each and every ferret by the Creator, and it whispered to
the heart of the wee-one arriving; "you are home." The flash of light
subsided and then Mully heard the unmistakable sounds of ferrety feets
coming across the planks of the Bridge; Molly the winged unicorn had
delivered another ferret to the Rainbow Bridge.
 
"Hello Skylar and welcomes to da Wainbow Bwidge Mully says to the little
silver mitt ferret, I be Mr. Muldoone, da officialist Bwidge Gweeter."
 
Skylar sits down to study her new surroundings.  For a long time she
says nothing just drinking all the sights before her and breathing in
the sweet smells of raisins, dates, Foamy Fries and other treats there
at the Bridge.
 
Finally the young ferret begins to speak; I not wants to be here ya
know, I wanted to stay wif my familee a while longer.  Can you fixes me
and sends me back Mr. Muldoone?"
 
"No Skylar, I be sworry, I no can dooes dat.  Whens you comes here, you
stays here until your hooman-bean cwoss ober."
 
Bending down to be on eye level with the little ferret known as Skylar,
Mully begins to speak to her softly.  "I no can sends you back but you
habe a ferrety fwiend here, I be told yur buddy Weasle be here and soons
as we gets you settled we finds your fwiend and den I takes you to da
refwecting pond to shows you how to wook in your familee and sends dem
whiskery kisses."
