Yes!  That is thought by some vets and veterinary nutrition experts
(recent private discussions) to be the reason why there have recently
been a few reports of ferrets on cheap foods having Yellow Fat Disease
again.  It came up for discussion recently after another mention of that.
When things with too much polyunsaturated fats become cheap enough they
can show up in far too large amounts for ferret health.  There hadn't
been any reports of that for years and years, but recently there has been
a spate of them.
 
Remember when discussing shelter ferrets that the ones most likely to
be sent to shelters are also the ones most likely to have been in homes
without the right care, so that, too could increase vulnerabilities.
 
They deserve all the care they can get.
 
Pet store kits: has the kit with crusty eyes and nose been tested for
possible Canine Distemper?  There are other possible causes and it most
likely is not CDV, of course, but that is such a major problem that it
needs to be tested for to be safest.

It's CUTE actually (as well as being a very serious vehicle)... has a
Rolls engine and a machine gun.
 
Okay, I want one.  (Just kidding; couldn't afford the gas or shelter for
it and wouldn't use the machine gun.  It IS SOOOOOOOOO CUTE, though!)

Today's news on the animal abuse case of Soren Thinggard is good news
and a real relief.  I hope that if ST does appeal it to a different court
that the prosecution can introduce additional evidence and increase his
sentence.
