to help little ferrets cope with a mess
Sweet little huggers who can barely guess
where Mommy and Dad can be.
 
Little ones who seek a home
Ones found hungry and on the roam
ones so ill you could write a tome
or abused so much it could make you foam
 
This is the time when all can show
the direction the world should really go
It doesn't even take much dough
to ride the tree with hearts that know
companionship in the ride
breaking the ribbon as you slide
through the finish line with pride
helping hurt ferrets find how to ride
 
from your love
 
so while the tree still is here
give a little to someone dear
whom you haven't yet met but you can hear
 
in your heart
