Those of you who have been around for about 5 years may remember when
we held the "FML Hero of the Year" in 1999.  FMLers nominated several
people for the award, and voting was held.
 
The winner (by a significant amount) was Bill Gruber! He was awarded a
lovely plaque at the International Ferret Symposium in Toronto in Sept
2000.
 
Five years later he is still toiling away at his computer late at night
to bring us all together.  Thank you Bill!
 
This award led to the "Special Achievement Awards" that have been
presented at each International Ferret Symposium since.  See our
web site for a list of awardees.  These are some of the most generous
people in the ferret community, and we all owe them a great deal!
