Brian,

I applaud you. Sometimes it is necessary to rescue a ferret from a pet
store. They are the ones who are sometimes in more dire need of help.
Please no one take this the wrong way. Adopting from a shelter is great
and gives them a second chance at much better life than they have
obviously had in the past. But if you think of it, some of these guys
in the pet store, really have no one to take care of them, at least
properly. No one to give them the attention and love they deserve.
In the first place Brian took the time to talk to the assistant store
manager and give him education on how to properly care for ferrets. Now
maybe there will be actions taken to make their stay safer and a little
more enjoyable. Now if Brian might follow up and send information to the
store, lots of information. If all of us would take the time to talk to
and bring in information to pet stores (not saying that most of you don't
already) then maybe the need to rescue a ferret from a pet store would be
much less; and maybe some of these guys wouldn't go on later in life
ending up in shelters.

Just some food for thought.

Missy
