Well, I got Kiki his first Lupron shot. I kept him down town for about
2 hours afterwards to be sure he would be ok. I had him in this cute
little front pack, like a baby pack. He was fine until we got to
Wal-Mart, about an hour after the shot. He clawed and wiggled and did
his best to get out of his carrier. His nose and paws turned dark red
and he started drooling, then he had diareha (sp) By the time I got him
back out to the Jeep he was covered in poop! But he seemed to be feeling
a little better. I offered some water and cleaned him up. I tried to
call the vet, but he had left for the day. He wouldn't touch the water
but had gone back to normal color and stopped drooling, so I think (hope)
he was just overheated. That carrier does get very warm. I ended up
bringing him home and putting him in the "sick" cage to watch him. He
hasn't done much but sleep. But he seems to be Ok right now. (it's been
about 4 hours) So is that a normal reaction to a Lupron shot? Or was
he just stressed and over heated like I thought?

Thanks in advance.

Shelley the nervous ferret mommy.
