Q: My neighbor wants to know how many ferrets are the perfect amount?
A: That is sort of like asking a junkie how much heron is the perfect
amount, don't you think? I'm jonesin' for hobs .
In the past, I have always mumbled something profound, but I forget what
it was. Hey, I'm getting old. So, now I say the perfect number of
ferrets is at least a third of what you have time for, at least half of
what you can afford medical care for, and at least a tenth of what you
might want. Personally, I think three might be the perfect number for
most ferret owners, especially if separated by a year or so. That allows
you to better bond with each individual ferret, while still being able to
afford his or her medical care. However, all bets are off if you have
more than 700 ferrets because you could obviously Berry Bond with them.
