Hello All,
This is just a 1st pass, so that I can judge what would be involved if
I were to offer to take in a group of 6 old girls who need a loving
"retirement center" for seniors. These girls are between 6 & 7 years old
and located in Lincoln, NE. I am in Louisville, KY and specialize in
just this kind of ferret. They are being fostered for the past 2 weeks
due to extreme financial troubles of their owner.
Due to previous severe reactions, they are not up to date on vaccines
and their current & long-time vet will verify previous vaccines & the
decision not to vaccinate again. They have not been ADV tested yet.
Apparently, and this is just my understanding, I have not verified, FAA
is not comfortable transporting with the lack of vaccines and testing.
(I understand this & have no issues with this decision if this is in fact
the case). I'm sure we can get them ADV tested before any transport was
started but their current owner does not have the funds to do so.
So questions for the group -
1) Is anyone located in the area between Lincoln NE and Louisville,
KY and willing to drive one leg of the trip? If I can get enough
responses & can put them all together, I can get these girls sooner
than later.
2) Is there anyone who would donate ADV tests if we wanted to send them
to Nebraska for testing before transport? If not, I can handle - but
since I'll have to have them all vet checked when they come in & address
any medical conditions, I thought I'd check if anyone is willing & able
to donate a test here & there.
Thanks all - this is just a 1st pass to test the waters. Please e-mail
me directly as there's no need to fill the list with responses.
