"Does anyone know why ferrets' teeth get so much tartar in a short time,
while cats don't?"
Actually, I can answer this one, but not right this moment. It is
actualy one of the topics I frequently discuss when on the road visiting
ferret people, so some on this list can tell you the discussion is worth
waiting for. I simply cannot emphasize how common dental disease is in
ferrets, or how horrible the diseases associated with it. There are
several associated myths, such as the effect of kibble, what bones do,
that sort of thing.
At the moment, I am neck deep in a chapter that simply has to be done
ASAP, so I can't discuss it to the depth it deserves at the moment. Give
me a few days and I'll answer it and I can even toss in a few photos that
will not only prove what I have to say, but also will scare the crap out
of you.
