Hi All!
Well, the good news is that a wonderful woman drove up from Lake Worth
and brought, Food, Ice, paper towels, litter, and other wonderful Stuff.
Bad news, No power today. Vero Beach (city of) 90% power, Indian River
County (us) 60% power. I am sure we will get power tomorrow! We still
have water though and they have hauled away all the aluminum that was
blown off the houses and also lots and lots of yard debris.
Ferrets are thriving except for Muggwump and Splash. Report today of 4
ferrets missing from various parts of the county.
Ferrets in the shelter are really keeping me busy -- gosh they love those
showers!
Supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow will see how the room
does. Only 7 days and counting until the Insurance people are supposed
to be here.
The first group out today the "notorious nine"; Larry left the gate open
and 5 escaped - Crystal & Bear dog did their jobs and found them. Then
Blackie (a back eyed white) did a cage escape -- thinking it was play
time he decided "Catch me" was the game -- whoops see do - Shelter Mom
took a tumble over the ice chest; fortunately all was fine -- just
another bruise for Shelter Mom.
Shelter dad re-taped the panel that fell of the house.
We are physically tired but mentally very alert.
Thank you all again for the donations -- we went down today and gave the
vet some money and also bought Heartworm protection, earmite medicine,
and antibiotics for the Ferrets all because of your generous donations
which came in by paypal to the Agedog1 address. We also got two check
by snail mail. It will take a while but I will either send snail mail
letters or e-mail to all of those who have been so kind to us.
It's late, got to go home and take care of the 3rd group it's their turn
for a run.
Thank you all again, more tomorrow
Love and thanks:
Chere McCoy
