I know this hardly has anything to do with ferrets, but since opossums
were brought up, I thought I'd put my two cents worth in. Recently, I
obtained a permit to rescue (and rehabilitate) wild animals in CA. The
day I got the permit, I was given a box with a baby opossum in it. He is
about the size of a 4 week old kitten and as cute as anything. Email me
if you want an adorable picture of him drinking milk from a syringe.
When I open his cage, he bares his minuscule teeth and hisses, but when I
put my hand around him, he closes his mouth and simply tries to get away.
It's like he doesn't know that he could bite e if he wanted to, he just
thinks; "Well, if I can't scare 'em off, I'll run away!" When I show
him the syringe filled with warm puppy milk, though, he stops trying to
scurry away and licks the syringe as if he hasn't eaten in days. Sooo
cute.

Well, I should say something 'bout ferrets since this IS the FML....
My furbabies trapped me outside of their room the other day. I tried
opening the door and it wouldn't budge. After heaving and panicking for
about 5 minutes, I finally got the door to open a mere 10 inches (about).
I barely squeezed through and found a board that the ferrets had knocked
over.  I looked around and I swear two of them were laughing at me;
"Hehehe, that's what you get for trying to block our favorite poopy place
with something so easy to knock over!!" they seemed to be saying.
