i work for petco for about 51/2 years.  at our store we have older and
wiser people not youngsters .  i agree with some of the stores with no
animal care or have no information on animals,but in my case our store
is in the best shape.  i own many animals and 3 weasels too.
 
i am a small animal specialist and we sell ferrets in our store i hate
the fact when people think ferrets are cute so i want one i won't sell
it.  we have no animals in our backroom.  we are always cleaning animals
ang giving treatment when needed.  it all has to do with your dm,gm,your
asst.mgr. and team leads to make sure the animal are taken care of.
in our store we have a great fish specialist been there 6 yrs a bird
specialist 4 yrs also a reptile specialist for 4 yrs too.  i feel for
the animals that are not being taken care at the other petcos,petland,
petsmart also your local malls.  but, don't go around saying that none of
the store don't care.  why don't we fight to have the laws passed to have
animal cops in all states if i had it here in my state i would be working
for them to get those sick people for not taking care there animals.  it
is a sick world out there.
 
one more point before i go.  at work yesterday this sick man comes and
needs a mouse and some cockateil food for his bird and said oh the bird
will have to not eat it is too much money for the food i need beer first
and boy did he smell like it to so i replied then you shouldn't have the
bird.  boy was i pissed.
 
please don't punish every petco store........ there are still great
stores.  also i you walk into a petco store if you see them cleaning
please leave them alone.  there are other people there that can help you.
or say do you have another cashier when you see me cleaning that just
gets me mad.  have a little respect tell it to the cashier......... i
just had to get this out of my head also customers get mad at me because
they come over look at my animals mainly ferrets and said aww they stink
and bite i get so mad,...... then they say i was nasty to them any
answers to the comments those mean people....
