Oh, and... (more on cystine stones from too much dietary protein)

Oh, and in relation to the cystine stones you can also learn details from
before the stone type was known by searching under Hilbert and Mornie in
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org.
 
Right now how much is too much protein is as unknown -- if not more so --
than how much is too little.  Individual variation is also unknown.  In
fact, most in unknown.
 
I can say that they sure are not a picnic, and they were a complete
surprise (which is obvious because we'd never have gone so high protein
if we had realized this could happen).  It really hasn't been any easier
at all than insulinoma (more advanced rather than earlier insulinoma) but
also no worse if the two individuals are taken together.  So, we are all
learning together now.
 
i AM curious about the past reports of stones from Britain.  (And really
wish I hadn't been wearing blinders and had been more curious about
them before!  Apologies.  I was a dunderhead in that.) Given the higher
protein diets often fed there how many were analyzed and found to be
cystine stones?
