Hello everyone! Happy 'belated' Mother's Day to all of you wonderful
"mommies" out there!
I would have sent this sooner but Sunday we were on our way back from
Portland, where Sasha had her adrenal surgery done this past weekend.
Just thought some of you might like a quick update ...
Although Sasha's tummy is quite black and blue and the stitches go
literally from neck to her bottom, she's already wanting to chase Snowy
around the room - much to mommy's dismay! In fact, she's pouting at this
very moment because I put her to bed for some R & R and actually locked
the cage door (gasp!) - now she deliberately won't look at me when I call
her name (even when I use her FULL name, which means business). :-(
Dr. Alice Davis in Oregon did a wonderful job with the surgery and was
so reassuring, although Sasha did lose the left adrenal (it was about
3x normal size) but I'm sure Sasha was happy to see the few insulinoma
nodules on right adrenal go away, as well as the (2) hairballs in her
tummy (she's recently been grooming Snowy to death and he tolerates it
so nicely)!
Snowy's so happy to have his 'cuddle-buddy' back, although he'd NEVER
admit that if he could talk (what brother will admit that he actually
LIKES having his older sister around?) and I'm happy to be home again,
with both my kiddos safe and sound. :-)
And A HUGE HUGE thanks for the wonderful hospitality I received from the
Mathis family at the Oregon Ferret Shelter in Oregon City - WHEW, what a
job looking after all the furkids AND hoomans (ferrets, dogs, cats,
skunks, birds, an adorable hedgehog, and a grandchild)! And I ididn't
lack for 'indoor transportation' with the 4 HUGE English Mastiffs (the
PUPPY weighed more than I do and that's saying ALOT!)
Thank you so much for everyone's thoughts and prayers through this
difficult time for us. We all really appreciate your kindness ...
Warmest Regards - Jennifer, Sasha & Snowball in Seattle
