Hello,
I have been lurking about the FML for a few weeks now. I have three
ferrets, one with adrenal disease. I have atopic dermatitis on my face.
I had never had it before I purchased my oldest ferret, Martini. Talked
to the dermatologist (3 of them actually) who said there was probably no
association since I did not have a reaction to the other ferrets. I had
always been skeptical as the dermatitis is above my upper lip ( which
frequently touches the top of the ferret when I am giving him kisses).
So, I just had to post to share my experience, I will be anxious to here
any professionals opinions. One interesting thing is that I have had
the reaction ever since he was young, but it has gotten worse as he was
diagnosed with adrenal. He is on his second month of Lupron now (not a
surgical candidate), so I will let you all know if I see any improvement.
Oh, also, about 6 months ago my husband started getting dermatitis
patchess too! (never had had them before) Maybe we are on to something
here...
