In recent times I have been moved to post a word or two about the
various upsets and flames that appear from time to time, There are
times when the FML can seem like its becoming a war zone but then
little things happen that make you realise just how special a group
of people this list has amongst its number.
Late last year, I had to post a message to Sandee to look out for "da
Warweezil" as Bubbles (my first ferret) had left suddenly after a very
short illness. I was distraught, until that point I had not realised how
deep a bond I had developed, Losing him like that was a hammer blow and
coming right before xmas I was left feeling completely unfestive.
Today a month on from then, I collected my mail, and was surprised to see
a letter with a US postmark, I was intrigued, I opened it and inside I
found a short note, a postcard of some delicious looking Georgia Peaches,
and a 2003 symposium badge featuring Doodlebug. I cant express how
deeply this simple and thoughtful gesture has touched me, beyond saying
that my partner wondered what was in the mail that had made the tears
stream down my face..
I know I am not the first to say this, nor I am sure will I be the last,
the FML is blessed with some very special people... and ferrets.
Thank you Sharon and Stormy I will wear the patch with pride, and in
memory of all the Kouri Klub members that have crossed the rainbow bridge
