You know, my thinking on all this is that it's not such a bad thing if
people who find scenes of a blind ferret being dragged down a city street
by its oblivious owner and being smacked into various objects (as seen in
the Along Came Polly preview) are now being discouraged from wanting a
ferret of their own because the film's stars are talking about how awful
ferrets are. Call me humorless, but somehow I just don't find physical
injury to a handicapped animal very funny, and I don't have a whole lot
of respect for anybody who does find it funny. I know ferrets don't need
more bad PR--I'm just as defensive about my pets as anybody else is--but
if somebody who finds injuries to animals funny isn't tempted to get a
ferret because Stiller and Anniston said they bite, then that's okay with
me. Anyway, somebody who lives their life based on what movie stars say
about stuff needs help beyond their opinion of ferrets ;-)
That said, it would be neat if Leno did devote a segment to some quality
time with ferrets. Heck, he could have Seti come on the show--you can
stick your fingers in his mouth and he still wouldn't bite you!

"Is that my business? Well, what is my business? Do I know? Did I ever
know? Let's not go into that. You're not human tonight, Marlowe. Maybe
I never was or ever will be... Maybe we all get like this in the cold
half-lit world where always the wrong thing happens and never the right."
