First, I am not a lawyer or anything close to it.  That said, tell your
apartment company that you will take them to court for discrimination.
(And then, if they keep up the crud, do it).  You have a doctor's note
stating that the ferrets are "Aide Animals" akin to guide dogs.  You are
handicapped and being treated with clear and obvious prejudice.  Don't
back down, there are groups that help the handicapped with legal fees.
Stand up for yourself and your animals.  These particular ferrets are not
"pets" they are part of your medical treatment and are as necessary to
your health and well being as insulin to a diabetic, or a guide dog for a
blind person.  Point out that you could very well have taken a monkey as
an Aide animal since you were unable to move on your own.  See what they
think about poo flinging, curtain tearing, biting little apes.  (No
offense to those of you who have/like monkeys, I like them too.  I'm
trying to make a point, not offend).
