Lets review the math on this case. He weighs 3 lbs (1.4kg). He is
getting 0.75mls of a 3mg/ml pred solution, so that is 2.25mg (3mg/ml X
0.75ml) of the pred that you are giving him twice a day. The usually
recommended dose is up to 2mg/kg twice a day. Moose is getting 1.6mg/kg
(2.25mg/1.4kg) twice a day, so he is still in the normal dose range. I
will even go as high 5 mg/kg three times a day when needed. Now that you
have added proglycem, you may be able to reduce the amount of pred he is
getting. Then adjust upwards as needed to control his glucose and
clinical signs. Remember ferrets tolerate pred rather well.

Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
