Wow -- I thought I was the only one who knew about that! I actually
emailed Anne privately but will tell you that POLICITRA DID WORK for my
ferret Claudia. She had cystine stones, though, not the usual struvite,
which may be why. When Claudia was about 1 1/2 she developed stones for
the first time. We removed them and six months later she had more and
bigger ones. Desperate to save her my vet and I sat down and went
through medical references and came up with the perfect remedy:
A mixture of two meds: 1.0 cc 2x day of Tiopronin, and 0.5 cc 1x day of
Policitra-K. She had one more surgery about about 2 1/2 and then never
had bladder stones again a day in her life, and she lived to be just shy
of 8.
I'm not sure what the Tiopronin was for, but the combination worked
wonders for her.
