We too received a wonderful box of eggs and hammys, and beautiful writing
by Paul.
Adopting and saying goodbye can be a very bittersweet moment for me. I
worry if they will miss me and their friends at the shelter. I worry if
they will forget all about us; thus, I send them to their new homes with
the very eggs they played with, tucked inside their sleepsaks, or hid.
These are more than just eggs. With my kids I have seen them be their
Linus' blanket, or their imaginary friend. I have seen my ferrets place
them in the food bowl, next they are placed in the water bowl or under a
water bottle. I have had to dispose of some that I found....yes, in the
litter box. But hey, a egg has to go, when an egg has to go! Yep, to
many ferrets in the shelter these eggs are more than just toys.
Well, the good and bad of that is that alot of Rocky's ferrets have found
homes in 2003, approximately 200 - that's a good thing. The bad is that
I was running low on eggs. Thank you for the supply that I know was made
with so much love. The hammys are beautiful!
Thank you all for the support you've given Rocky's with donations and
raffles this year, and again, thank you so much for making our Christmas
so wonderful!
