I am so very sorry for your horrific experience! I don't know what to
make of your situation; it is very apparent that miscommunication was
key. I certainly agree with you that you had the ultimate final say
in whether or not Foxy was put to sleep. (And I assuming that there was
no agreement made in the study about the post-mortem).
You also mentioned Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter (WFRS). I only
want to make sure that folks know that this shelter is on the up-and-up.
There is nothing odd going on here. I've gotten 5 ferrets from them,
and 2 fosters just yesterday. They are professional, organized, and
knowledgeable people. I would hate to see their shelter maligned in
this instance. They house approximately 40-50 ferrets at any one time,
and I am amazed at the organization of their shelter, etc.
I won't however, defend the vet you refer to.... and if what you say is
true, GRRRR!
