PLEASE CONTACT THE GOVERNOR!!!!!
This bill has the potential to shut down all our small non profit
shelters - never mind FerretWise!
THE GOVERNOR ONLY NEEDS TO SIGN it-- it got by the house & senate!
read below- Annually our license fee is $50 now they want $200.00 a 400%
increase to a small shelter, for all the other small NH shelters please
consider voicing your concerns today!
I have forwarded my voice-- perhaps you have some new or other issues to
address. AS ALWAYS - BE POLITE and respectful. The bill lies in the
signature of this man... Thanks for helping out NH animals in shelters!
below is the link to contact NH Governor Benson:

My email to Gov Benson,
I volunteer for a small non profit animal shelter in Marlborough NH-
Ferret Wise Shelter .
The ANNUAL operating fee averages $20,000.00 Our current license fee
is $50.00 Increasing the license fee by 400% is a great obstacle for our
facility.
We provide shelter , vet , rehabilitative care & public education and
place approximately 50 domesticated ferrets per year into new "friendly"
himes. These animals - domesticated ferrets which arrive in abuse state
form investigators, police and humane agencies which refuse to care for
them.
We do not have the grand donors that large NH humane operations have.
If you need to increase somewhere, I urge you to please reconsider and
increase the retailers - not the non profit shelters! SB 399 will hurt
those who are cleaning up the mess the retailers leave behind.. in the
name of commerce!
You PROMISED NO NEW TAXES during the campaign -- now we are seeing a tax
on facilities like ours which already has a limited means of support -
yet provides services others will not. PLEASE - do NOT sign this bill,
it will hurt the animals in need of care in our communities!
We most likely will be forced to close our doors after nearly 10 years
of operations.
Sincerely,
Alicia Drakiotes
