At Christmas time, I was looking to adopt a ferret who needed a good
home, but I really couldn't afford to buy one at the time, but I was
looking for anyone in the Columbus area, or vicinity who had a ferret
baby or two to give away, because they had to find a good home. I was
shocked to get a few responses from people who thought that if I couldn't
afford to buy one how could I afford to spend money on one if they were
sick. So I said no more, but as time went on, I really thought about
this, and I want you people who e-mailed me to know that I have had many
dogs, hamsters, gerbils, fish, snakes, tarantulas, iguanas in the past,
and at any time, if anyone was sick I took them to the vet for the
necessary medicines, etc. So don't think of me as not being able to
afford to take care of my responsibilities, but I know there are people
out there who would just like to make sure their ferret gets a good home,
and if any of you knew me, you would know that my animals come first, ask
anyone that I work with. I have talked them to death about my Harley
until they were convinced that ferrets make good pets. I have three
rooms that Harley plays in every day, and snuggles on our bed, and goes
where he can, and gets treats, etc. We even have an animal room where
most of our animals live, nothing else in there, but Harley has his own
special place in our computer room where our 3 computers are set up,
and he can see us when he can't be let out. I just thought I would let
everyone know out there how I felt.
I am still looking for a companion for Harley, but if I don't ever find
one, then Harley shall be an only ferret, and will be just as spoiled as
any other as I have had.
